Super Scarabs!

To complement our Humanities work on Ancient Egypt, in our Art and DT lessons this autumn we have been designing and creating our own scarab beetles using air drying clay.

First, we drew and painted a colourful design, before using clay to create a 3D model of a scarab beetle.  We had to knead and shape the clay and then use different tools to create patterns in the wet clay.  Finally, we painted the finished scarabs using metallic paints.
