This week’s Big Writing task is to write a letter to the Pin Man. We will be using the short film ‘The Lucky Dip’ as a stimulus again. You can watch the video here:
On Friday, we will be writing a thank you letter from the little girl.
It would be useful if you could discuss the following with your child in preparation for Big Writing:
- Discuss and practise using the word of the week ‘cautiously’.
- Think about how the girl was feeling when she first saw the Pin Man.
- Practise using higher level connectives (therefore, however, despite…)
- Practise using generalising words (never, always, sometimes, occasionally)
Anything that children bring in before Friday can be used to assist with our Big Writing.
