Big Writing - w/b Monday 5th October

This week’s Big Writing is based on a character description. We are going to be using the short film ‘The Lucky Dip’ as a stimulus.

On Friday, we will be writing a character description of the ‘Pin Man’.

It would be useful if you could discuss the following with your child in preparation for Big Writing:

• Discuss and practise using the word of the week ‘horrendous ’.
• Use adjectives and similes to describe the Pin Man’s appearance.
• Practise using higher level connectives (therefore, however, despite…)
• Practise using positional language (on top of, underneath… 

Anything that the children bring in before Friday can be used to assist with their Big Writing.
