Mental Health Week

This week at Swan Lane we are learning more about how to look after our mental health, marking Mental Health Week which runs from Monday 7th February.  We had a special assembly from Mr Jones, who talked to us about the different ways in which we can look after our mental health.  

Often, when we talk about making healthy choices, we are thinking about the best ways to look after our physical health, but our minds are just as important!  We can use a rainbow of different strategies and activities to keep our minds healthy and keep ourselves feeling happy and relaxed. These include connecting with others, being active, enjoying ourselves, relaxing, being thankful and being positive.

Every day this week, we will be trying some of the different approaches to looking after our mental health.  Today, we focused on relaxing, by using an online mindfulness meditation from Peace Out.  These guided mindfulness sessions are really beneficial and calming, and only take a few minutes to complete.  You can try out the one we used today at home by clicking here.
