For our English work over the next few weeks, we will be focusing on 'The Iron Man' by Ted Hughes.
This week, we are exploring the opening chapter, and looking particularly at the way in which the author's choice of language and structure contributes to meaning within the narrative. We are finding out how to write a really strong opening to a story, so as to build tension and excitement for the reader and leave them wanting to find out what happens next!
