Big Writing - w/b Monday 7th December 2020

For our Big Writing this week, we will be describing what Christmas might be like at the home of Mr and Mrs Twit.  Once again, we will be using Roald Dahl's 'The Twits' as a stimulus: http://tinyurl.com/gm6vxvh

It would be useful if you could discuss the following with your child in preparation of Big Writing:

• Discuss and practise using the word of the week ‘vile.’
• Think about how you spend Christmas as a family – what are your traditions?
• Then think about what Mr and Mrs Twit might enjoy on Christmas Day.  What foods would they eat?  What tricks would they play?  What presents would they give to each other?
• Practise using conjunctions such as 'Despite' and 'Although' to begin sentences.
• Think about what your opinion of Christmas with Mr and Mrs Twit might be - would you want to spend the festive season with them?  

Any work completed at home can be used to assist with Big Writing on Friday.
