Over the past two weeks, the children in 3V have been learning to measure in metres, centimetres and millimetres, as well as converting different measurements between the different units in order to add and subtract them.
This afternoon, we made the most of the sunshine and went outside to measure the playground and playing fields. First the children estimated the length and width of the playground, and then worked in teams to measure as accurately as possible. There was some variation between the results of the different groups, so we discussed how and these discrepancies could have arisen.
