Exploring the Stone Age

Recently in Year 3 we have been learning all about life in Stone Age times.

This afternoon, we enjoyed exploring a range of different Stone Age artefacts kindly loaned to us by the Worcestershire Archive and Archaeology Service.   We had to be very careful when handling such precious (and sometimes fragile) objects!

We looked carefully at each of the different artefacts and considered how they might have been made and used by people living in Stone Age times, and what each object could tell us about life in Stone Age times.  We considered whether they might have been used during the earlier Paleolithic and Mesolithic Ages or whether they suggested the advancing technology of the Neolithic Age.

We also thought about some of the questions we might have about the objects, as it was not possible for us to deduce everything just from looking at and handling them.
