Tuesday 2nd June

Hello everyone!

I hope you are all well and getting back into the swing of home learning.  One thing I have really enjoyed about choosing different activities for you to do (alongside our regular maths and English work) has been the freedom to focus mostly on the fun things, with lots of practical activities, arts and crafts and baking - although I gather the Roman honey cakes were pretty foul - sorry!

Did you manage to look at the Harry Potter resources I suggested a few weeks ago? Wizarding World is the online home of Harry Potter, and is free to use, although you do need to make a personalised account, so you must have permission from your parents or carers before logging in.

In addition to the Harry Potter stories, J K Rowling also writes other books, including a new story for children called The Ickabog.  Although the book isn't going to be published until the autumn, J K Rowling is making the story available online now, episode by episode - and most excitingly, she is offering young people the chance to enter a competition for their artwork to be featured in the real book!  You can find the story here at The Ickabog website, where J K Rowling also explains more about the competition.  Let me know if you decide to enter!

That's all from me for today - look after yourselves, have fun, and be kind to one another.

Mrs Vaqueiro
