Evesham Library Visit

As part of our World Book Week celebrations, all the children at Swan Lane have been taking it in turns to visit Evesham Library this week.  Today it was 3V's turn, and as a bonus we enjoyed a lovely walk in the sunshine to get there.

When we arrived, Mrs Vaqueiro showed everyone how the library was organised into non-fiction and fiction sections.  We had a look at the reference sections and found some books in other languages, including some children's books in Polish, Czech and Portuguese!

Afterwards, we visited the fiction section, and Mrs Vaqueiro explained how the books were organised according to genre and author.  The children were challenged to find some books by Agatha Christie.  We found some in the large print section as well as in the ordinary crime fiction area.

Finally, the children enjoyed some free time choosing and looking through the books in the children's section, before it was time to go back to school.

The staff at the library kindly provided us with some information about joining the library, and all the children have been given a copy to take home.  Membership is free - if you and your family would like to join the library, simply complete the forms and hand them in at the library - the staff there will do the rest!
